Music on Repeat, Incredible Sports Story & More
Welcome to Constantly Curious, Edition #6 (5/24/2023)!
The idea here is simple: each week, I will curate the most interesting articles, tweets, videos, ideas, people or hacks that I’ve come across and send them (via this newsletter) directly to your inbox.
—
I recently updated my Twitter Bio, which can be found here. I’m workshopping some ideas that to show people “who i am” when they land on my socials.
What do you think? Does this encapsulate my authenticity? I’d love your feedback!

With that said, let’s get into it -
3 Songs On Repeat This Week
Is there anything more fun than sharing music with friends? Here’s 3 songs (that you may have never heard before) that were on repeat this week:
A Brand Who’s Content and Values Resonate With Me
Random Golf Club (YouTube, IG), the brain-child Erik Anders Lang (@ErikAndersLang), is a lifestyle company and media brand that aims to be the home for local golfers around the world.
At this stage, RGC is now a multi-facitited operation; but I especially LOVE their YouTube and Instagram content. Specifically, these two videos are fantastic:
I love RGC videos because they take a completely different angle on golf content - unlike much of traditional golf content (Full Swing on Netflix not withstanding) they are casual, approachable and fun, while still respecting and highlighting the traditions that make golf special. These two videos are great because they are done high-quality “vlog-style”, and are equal parts entertaining and serious.
If you want to see the RGC values in real life, don’t skip the last section of the newsletter…
Video That May Make You Think Differently
I initially learned about this clip while reading Elon Musk’s biography, titled “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future” (sidebar: this was a fantastic book, BUT Walter Isaacson, arguably the GOAT biographer, is dropping a Elon biography in a few months - this will be a must read for me).
This clip is from a 60 Minutes interview, originally airing in 2012.
I love this clip because it is incredibly raw and human - the emotion on Elon’s face says it all. Recognizing that Elon is not everyone’s cup of tea, I think this video might give you additional perspective into his motivations and emotions.
Sports Story That Made Me Simply Say “Wow”
Prior to this week, I had never heard of Michael Block - and neither had the world. That is, until the PGA Professional from SoCal made a run for the ages in the PGA Championship at Oak Hill, one of golf’s 4 majors.
Michael Block is the head pro at a public course in California and charges $150 for 60-minute lessons.
But today he’s paired with Rory McIlroy for the final round of the PGA Championship — and he’s currently in position to take home $500,000.
You couldn’t write a better script.

A typical golf tournament is 4 rounds (Th, Fri, Sat, Sun), with a “cut” after the second round where the field is cut (based on score) to only incude the Top 70 players remaining. Blockie made the cut, which is a massive accomplishment in itself. On Saturday, he shot even par in Round 3, which had him in the Top 15(!) going into the Final Round on Sunday.
On the line? 7-figures in prize money, invitations to other PGA Tour events, sponsorships, etc. - no big deal for a Club Pro who teaches lessons most weekends.
Well, i’ll let the tweets below explain what happened next…
UNBELIEVABLE!
MICHAEL BLOCK JUST DUNKED A HOLE-IN-ONE!

Un.Real.
Watch the below video for the full context on the madness that was the final round.
In an amazing interview, Michael Block talks about his hole-in-one and how he managed to secure a tie for 15th place with an up-and-down.

From teaching at a public SoCal course one week…
To a hole-in-one (while paired with Rory McIlroy) on a Major Sunday the next.
Sports are the BEST reality TV 🙏🏻❤️
