Thereās No Failure in Sports (or Life)
"There's no failure in sports."
After losing in the first round of the NBA playoffs and experiencing the lowest point in his professional career, Giannis Antetokounmpo (@Giannis_An34) spoke those words
And he caught a LOT of shit for it.
But, here's the thing...

I wrote this tweet earlier this week - click it, read, and then come back so I can expand.
Iāve talked a bit about mindset and perspective, and this tweet builds on those ideas. At the time, Giannis caught a lot of shit for saying this. But I loved it, because I believe it speaks to why Giannis is who he is in the first place, and highlights the mindset that it takes to be āspecialā.
Just look at the photo in the Tweet - most people who start on the left donāt end up finishing on the right. Going from a skinny, raw 18 year-old kid playing in the Greek 2nd Division to 2x NBA MVP and 1x NBA Champion takes something different.
The only way you can overcome seemingly insurmountable odds is through seemingly insane self-belief.
If every failure is a lesson, you can NEVER lose. You might laugh at the idea, but how can you beat someone who really believes that?

Alright, Letās Take Your Coffee Game to the Next Level
I love coffee for two reasons:
Itās awesome
Speciality Coffee (and the process of brewing and exploring it) is an affordable luxury
Affordable luxuries are a topic Iāll be diving deeper into in the future, but the concept is simpleā¦
An affordable luxury is anything that you can add to your life that costs little but adds much more (think: Specialty Coffee, Craft Beer, Homemade Bread, etc).
Affordable luxuries like speciality coffee take ordinarily mundane categories, and infuse them with so much richness. Theyāre just fun to dive into and nerd out on.
Here are some resources to get started in the speciality coffee game specifically through the eyes of one of my favorite coffee content creators, James Hoffmanā¦

Three Quotes & Ideas to Consider
āIf you want to have real success, you have to very often be willing to do something different than the herd.ā
